Septic work done right the first time
A septic system is the most expensive thing on your property that you hope to never think about. The difference between a system that quietly works for 30 years and one that fails in 8 comes down to three things: an honest soil evaluation, a design matched to that soil, and an installer who doesn't cut corners on bedding, fall, and compaction. That third part is us.
Hooper's Excavation and Demolition installs new septic systems, replaces failed ones, and repairs drain fields across Central Indiana. We run our own John Deere excavators and operators — no rented iron, no subcontracted dig crew — which means the schedule we give you is the schedule you get.
What we install
- Conventional gravity systems — where soils allow, the simplest and most economical option.
- Elevated sand mound systems — the standard answer to Central Indiana's heavy clay and seasonal high water tables.
- Pressure-distribution systems — dosed systems for sites where gravity won't do the job.
- Full replacements — tank, lines, and field, including removal and proper abandonment of the old system.
- Drain field repairs and expansions — when the tank is sound but the field is done.
Our process
1. Site & soil evaluation
Indiana requires a soil evaluation by a certified soil scientist before any system is designed. We coordinate it, walk the site with you, and talk honestly about what the soil will and won't support — before you've spent real money.
2. Design & county permit
We handle the design and the permit application with your county health department. Every county in our service area runs this a little differently — Hamilton, Tipton, Howard, Madison — we work with all of them regularly and know what each one wants to see.
3. Installation
Excavation, tank set, lines, field construction, and grading — typically 2 to 5 working days. We install to spec and then some, because backfill and compaction you can't see is where cheap installs fail.
4. Inspection & final grade
County inspection, clean final grade, and seed/straw so the site is a yard again — not a scar. You get documentation of everything installed.
New construction and failed-system replacement
Building in the county without sewer access? We coordinate septic design alongside your building pad, driveway, and utility work — one contractor, one schedule, one call. Replacing a failed system? We move fast, because you don't have the luxury of waiting a month with a house that can't flush.
